His teaching work has built up over the years and he now as a regular roster of between 40-50 students ranging from aged 5 to adult. Notably he is on the faculty of well renowned private school Kelly College in Devon as well as other establishments in the area.
As a peripatetic tutor he teaches saxophone, clarinet and flute to a high level and piano, guitar, ukulele and drums at entry level alongside theory and performance skills. Students are able to take music exams on ABRSM, Trinity and Rock School boards in classical, jazz and rock disciplines. He also tutors privately to all ages.
Dan also teaches classes in the style of Wider Opportunities lessons at key stage 1 & 2. These vary from percussion (samba, african & steel drums), stringed (ukulele & guitar), woodwind (ocarina, recorder, clarinet, saxophone), and music production. He has also co-authored the music curriculum for Horrabridge Primary School to bring them in line with the National Curriculum and introduce more practical music than is offered in other schools in the area.
