Online Lessons.

  • Lessons would usually be weekly with session lengths and costs staying the same as normal for returning students. For new students I offer lessons in 20/30/60 minute slots. Please Contact me for pricing and more info.
  • You will obviously need to have an instrument in a playable condition and a way to read the music at your instrument.
  • You will need your music! If I don’t have a copy of your music it would be ideal if you could snap some photos from your phone and send them to me before the lessson begins so I can give the best advice.
  • If you’re using photocopies of my music and we move onto the next page I will have to email you a copy of the music. Be prepared for this!
  • We will be using Zoom to run lessons on. This can be used free for our purposes and allows the best quality of the available options as well as letting me use multiple cameras to help students see fingers or posture as well as face to face. Details can be found here https://zoom.us/
  • If you don’t wish to use Zoom we can use Facetime or aother option but the quality of the lesson may suffer and will need to be arranged beforehand.
  • The room you pick to have the lesson in needs to be well lit, tidy and a good learning environment and I will do the same. Stay away from noisy siblings. Your bedroom is not ideal as it’s your own personal space. Use it only as a last resort.
  • Be dressed appropriately, I won’t teach in my dressing gown, so don’t learn in yours!
  • If you would feel more comfortable to have a parent with you for the lesson that’s absolutely fine, and it might even be helpful. The choice is up to you and them.
  • Even though this is a strange way to have a lesson you are to be respectful and sensible during the lesson time. I’ll try and make this fun but please stay engaged. Don’t be raging around in Minecraft at the same time.
  • Once we make a time schedule please be on time. If we have agreed a time slot and you are not there, or cancel within 24hrs you will be charged for the wasted slot.
  • If you are having problems connecting let me know as soon as you can. I’ll assume the first session might be a little tricky of course, but if you can be even a few minutes early there’s time to fix things before it’s too late. If we experience connectivity issues throughout the session we can work out other ways to continue learning.
  • If you are interested or wish to book lessons please get in touch on the Contact Page.
